The Bear Valley Search & Rescue Team is comprised of dedicated men and women, who quickly respond to distress calls.
Rescue missions are usually in the San Bernardino National Forest (California), at any time of day or night, in any kind of weather, to search for lost hikers, skiers, stranded travelers or downed aircraft.
The team focuses on protecting the Big Bear Valley, and also assists in all areas of San Bernardino County, California. They may also assist in missions in other counties including Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, Inyo and Kern.

Our members volunteer their own time and absorb personal equipment expenses for training and searches. Your donation directly supports our mission to save lives. Funds are used for training courses, medical training, equipment procurement, and mission-specific supplies.
Specialized Certifications
Specialized Certifications
In addition to the primary duties of a SAR "ground" volunteer, members may achieve specialized certifications in areas such as OHV, technical rope, alpine, and mounted posse.
